- Listen to instruction at the beginning of class so you know what to do.
- PARTICPATE! Be a positive, contributing member of the class -- engage your brain!

Notes about grading...
- Grades are based on the quality of class participation, and the quality and quantity of completed work. Students will have learning activities as well as projects that require application of taught concepts. I want students to make choices about their learning and effort, and take on the challenges that they are most comfortable with. While I do not want Art to be a stressful subject for our middle schoolers, I do set fair and appropriate requirements for students to aim to complete. Class content is differentiated as needed for each student's best interest and skill level.
- Grades will be on the Portal as soon as possible after activities are complete. A zero will be placed in the gradebook until the work has been turned in - please be patient as having so many classes makes it hard to keep each group's grades updated as often as I'd like! I try to update every other week. All finished assignments will be posted on Artsonia.com, so if the work is there, the grade will be updated as soon as possible.
- Please assume "No news is good news" -- I will definitely reach out to alert parents and caregivers to any issues that arise. Contact me with any questions here.
